What’s the Difference Between a Page’s Name and its Title?

When you create a new Page, you enter a name. That Page Name then is used in many places:

  • Site navigation
  • Site map
  • Browser title bar
  • Browser address bar, as part of the URL
  • The default Page Title

Page Title

The Page Title is generated by default from the Page Name. The Page Title is used in just one place:

  • At the top of the webpage

What to use for a Page Name & Page Title

Keep the Page Name very brief so it works well in site navigation. But you might want the Page Title to be different, and longer.

For example:

  • Page Name: New Products
  • Page Title: Introducing Our New Line of Products
