If you want to create and manage sublists inside a list, use the Indent & Outdent buttons.

  1. Position the cursor at the end of the list item after which you want to create a new sublist item.

  2. Press Return to create a new list item.

  3. Press Indent to turn that list item into the first sublist item.

  4. The list item becomes a sublist item.

  5. To create additional sublist items, simply press Return and type.

    The new sublist items will be indented at the same level as the first sublist item.

What about the Outdent button?

What if you create a sublist but later realize that you don’t want it to be sublist, that you instead want it at the same level as the main list items? Then you need the Outdent button.

To move a sublist item up a level:

  1. Position the cursor on the list item you wish to move up a level.

  2. Press Outdent to move the list item to the left.

  3. Repeat as necessary.
